Eating healthy natural whole foods is crucial to living and being in perfect health. Aim for eating mostly whole natural foods and avoid processed foods whenever possible. Whole natural foods provide proper nutrients necessary for perfect health. Processed foods are full of chemicals, hormones and artificial ingredients that rob us of nutrients, cause cancer, increase weight gain and cholesterol, cause food allergies and countless diseases of the body and mind. They even create difficulty in thinking and concentration.

Unhealthy eating is an addictive act of self-sabotage and destruction. This is not to say that you can’t ever have a piece of cake or candy again. The hope is that as you evolve, as you eat better, you will think better and clearer, and you won’t even want to eat unhealthy processed foods. The experience will not feel good to you anymore. Natural foods like fruit, vegetables and whole grains replenish your body, restore your mind, revitalize your energy level, delay the process of aging, make your skin glow and make you happier, more beautiful and confident.

Plus natural foods actually taste better than junk food that taint your taste buds. When you go without junk food long enough your taste buds will restore to their original state and you will be able to taste how delicious and wonderfully satisfying healthy whole foods really are. Juicing is a great way to detox from processed foods and reprogram your taste buds (see Juicing recipes).

It is also crucial that you drink half your body weight (pounds) in ounces of water each day. The body thrives when it is properly hydrated. Headaches, fatigue, weight gain and weight loss plateaus can be attributed to dehydration. When you don’t get enough water your whole system is affected. You lose essential electrolytes when you sweat that need to be replenished. Don’t get tricked into drinking those sugar filled sports drinks full of artificial colors and ingredients. They do more damage than good. When replenishing electrolytes, half a teaspoon of sea salt will do the trick. Drink half your body weight (pounds) in ounces each day, for example if you weigh 150 lbs you should drink 75 oz of water per day. On the days you exercise add another liter of water with half teaspoon of sea salt to replenish electrolytes. If your urine is anything but clear you need more water.
